The Accounts Payable (“A/P”) Manager will increase A/P accuracy and efficiency while providing strong leadership to our A/P department. The A/P Manager will ensure that the A/P department operates smoothly, maintain accurate and complete records regarding payments to suppliers, lenders, and employees, and hire, train, and support A/P department staff. Additionally, the A/P Manager will serve as a liaison between the A/P department and internal/external parties including vendors, suppliers, employees, sites, and government agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Hiring, training, motivating, and evaluating A/P staff.
  • Oversee routine department activities, such as weekly check run, to ensure that they are completed accurately and on time.
  • Pay independent contractors on a bi-weekly schedule.
  • Process weekly expense report reimbursement through Certify.
  • Schedule and process payments per vendor terms by check, ACH, credit card, and wire.
  • Maintain accurate and updated financial, employee, and vendor information.
  • Respond to vendor, contractor, and internal inquiries by phone and email.
  • Provide managerial reporting on cash flow, vendors and terms, assisting the company to maximize cash flow.
  • Regularly handle urgent and time-sensitive requests
  • Prepare 1099 forms and assist with year-end filings.
  • Compile, analyze, and report A/P information to management.
  • Develop, implement, improve, and enforce policies and department controls to increase accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with our Accounting, FP&A, and Treasury Management teams to provide information necessary for additional analysis and for preparation of monthly financial and forecasts.
  • Offer support with financial projects related to year-end, audits, etc.
  • Complete ad hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required with a 5+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills.
  • Strong organization skills with close attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently, follow up, and follow through on tasks with minimal direction.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Sense of urgency with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage competing deadlines.
  • Eagerness to take initiative and possess ambitions for career advancement.
