The Infrastructure Engineer position reports to the Sr. Director of Infrastructure & Security and is responsible for infrastructure foundational setup, maintenance, support, and security as well as proactively determining improvement solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Project Delivery and Operational upkeep of the following infrastructure technology areas:
    • Application Hosting
    • Virtualization
    • Cloud Technologies (Azure preferred)
    • Directory Services
    • GPO
    • DevOps platforms (Pre production environments)
    • Patching
    • Storage/Backups
  • Develop and implement system standards, processes, and security that maintain the health of the environment.
  • Act as escalation resource for any related system/infrastructure issues under his/her responsibility providing support to IT sister teams when needed. Demonstrate high standards for Employee Support Services
  • Manage network and endpoint monitoring, plan resources for high availability of infrastructure and data.
  • Develop and implement system standards, processes, and security that maintain the health of the environment.
  • Provide support escalation to the IT Support Team
  • Partner with vendor partners to ensure technology infrastructure functions appropriately.
  • Prevent and respond to “outages” in a quick and effective manner. Perform root-cause analysis for future prevention and present solutions.
  • Establish best practice policy and procedures through the entire technical support process
  • Collaborate with other IT members on cross department projects including cybersecurity initiatives, inventory management and user account management.
  • Work with security tools such as Darktrace, AlienVault, Zero Fox
  • Follow and refine system standards, processes, and security that maintain the health of the environment.
  • Partner with Enterprise Applications, Digital Health, and Talent Technology IT teams to provide infrastructure support.
  • Work directly with Information Security to solidify cybersecurity initiatives and establish privileged access processes.
  • Provide excellent customer service. Communication, and status reports for end users via phone, email, chat, in-person, etc., in both formal and informal settings.
  • Manage network and endpoint monitoring.
  • Assist with firewall installation, Azure cloud migration, data migration and other activities linked to building secure and solid platforms for business-critical and regulated applications.
  • Monitor systems for Infrastructure and Operations, ensuring high availability and ready access of data.
  • Follow incident and problem management processes to quickly identify and resolve issues and seeking solutions to pro-actively prevent service disruptions.
  • Document solutions, support steps, infrastructure setup, etc.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining a configuration management database.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, or the equivalent industry experience.
  • 4+ years enterprise experience designing, implementing, supporting Enterprise class corporate infrastructure (cloud, hybrid – Azure preferred) in a high-traffic, mission-critical environment.
  • Proven administrative experience with Microsoft enterprise tools
  • Broad technology background in networking, security setup, internet connections, cabling, and storage.
  • Cloud management and DevOps experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project planning and deployment
  • Knowledge of SSO techniques and integration (Okta preferred)
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to prioritize
  • Solid familiarity with network devices and remote management (e.g., routers, firewalls, switches, iLo server management, etc.).
  • Experience with scheduled patching and vulnerability recognition/remediation (Alien Vault)
  • Clinical industry and/or Global infrastructure experience preferred
  • Knowledge of CFR 21 Part 11 Compliance a plus
  • ITIL certification a plus

  • Workload Management and Adaptability: Organizes and executes multiple projects/tasks. Able to work on multiple projects. Reviews workflow processes to achieve efficiency. Adapts to situational variables and unexpected changes in circumstances.
  • Process Oriented: Ensures standardization is applied to all processes according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), security policies, and business regulations.
  • Innovate: Proactively identifies potential problems and improvement opportunities while taking industry trends and best practices into consideration.
